Minera produces 79 min Fe (m) grade Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) through the direct reduction of iron ore pellets. Our DRI is defined by high purity, low gangue content, and excellent reducibility.
It provides a superior metallic feed for steelmaking, substituting scrap with a consistent, low-sulfur alternative. For small steel mills looking to maximize scrap utilization and improve steel quality, our DRI is perfect for induction, electric arc, and blast furnaces because it is non-pyrophoric and devoid of tramp elements.

Our state-of-the-art sponge iron plant utilizes a carefully controlled rotary kiln process to convert iron ore pellets into high-grade Direct Reduced Iron (DRI). The iron ore pellets are sourced directly from our pellet plant, combined with coal and subjected to a precise 12-hour combustion process, to effectively remove oxygen and yield a highly pure DRI product.

Our process is engineered for and prioritizes environmental responsibility on all levels. A Waste Heat Recovery Boiler collects and uses the waste heat produced during production to create superheated steam.
The steam is directed into our Captive Power Plant (CPP), which can produce up to 8MW of renewable energy. Advanced de-dusting systems, which efficiently transform dry dust into a manageable wet state, are used to reduce air pollution.
